Hamilton & Waikato’s annual Round the Bridges run is set to hit the pavement again this November, taking place on Sunday 15th, along the banks of the Waikato River.
One of the oldest contested running events in New Zealand, Round the Bridges will see over 4500 runners, joggers, walkers and wheelchair athletes join the alumni of participants.
Starting and finishing at Garden Place in the centre of Hamilton City, the courses take in the Waikato River walks and the iconic Hamilton bridges, with event participants having three race categories to choose from – the 12km run and walk, 6 km run and walk and 2km kids challenge.
Participants can endeavour to follow in the footsteps of past champions including a long list of Olympic Medallists such as Barry Magee, Peter Snell, Mike Ryan, Lorraine Moller and more who have all taken part and won the race in the past.
With on course musical entertainment, spot prizes and prizes and trophies for each category this event is great for all ages and levels of fitness.
This year will also include a new fundraising programme, with the aim of making Round the Bridges the Waikato’s largest one-day fundraising event.
